The RAM-GDS-CHARGE-USBC-V7B1-1U wires directly into your vehicle's 10-30V supply and powers any GDS® dock or vehicle solution. It ships with the GDS® genuine USB Type-C 2.0 cable, so it is ready to charge a Type-C device out of the box. The quick-disconnect design means that when you change devices you unplug the charger components rather than rewiring the vehicle.

Works With

Powers any GDS® vehicle dock or GDS® solution drawing 5V at 2.5A or less. If you are running a 30-64V system such as a forklift or a heavy commercial vehicle, you need the 30-64V version instead, not this one.

Installation Notes

• This is a hardwired charger, so it needs to be wired to a switched or permanent supply. If you are not comfortable working on vehicle wiring, have an auto electrician fit it.
• Fuse the supply appropriately and observe polarity, even though the unit has reverse-polarity protection.
• The 2-pole flat marine connector is the disconnect point. Leave it accessible so future device changes stay a plug-and-play job.

FAQs

Will this work on a 24V truck?
Yes. The input range is 10-30V DC, which covers both 12V and 24V systems. For anything above 30V, such as a 36V or 48V forklift, you need the 30-64V version.

Does it fast-charge?
It delivers up to 9V at 2.5A maximum via AFC and QC 2.0. It is not a USB Power Delivery charger, so a device that only fast-charges over USB-PD will charge at standard speed.

Is the cable included?
Yes. The GDS® genuine Type-A to Type-C 2.0 cable is supplied with this kit. The charger on its own, without the cable, is the RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V7B1U.

What warranty does it carry?
Three years. RAM®'s lifetime warranty applies to their mounting hardware; electronics such as chargers and cables carry a 3-year term instead.
