How to choose the best tablet mount.
Choosing the right tablet mounting solution for you can be a confusing task. There are many options on the market with as many different price points. Taking time to get it right is important - the wrong solution will quickly turn a time saver into a focus of frustration. Sometimes the process can involve a little trial and error so we undertake to work with you to arrive at the right solution for you.

So how do you choose the best tablet mount for you?
Important questions that we ask our clients include:
What are the dimensions of your tablet?
Measure the exterior dimensions of your tablet accurately and pay attention to the thickness. If it is going to be inside a case then measure the dimensions of the case once the tablet is placed inside it.
Do you need a case?
We can source cases for many tablets in addition to the GDS-Tech range of powered cases. Please ask for more information.
Do you want a powered or passive cradle?
For passive tablet cradles have a look at the RAM Tab-Tite, Universal X-Grip and EZ-Roll'r ranges.
The Tab-Tite range is where we would usually start for a passive cradle solution.
EZ-Roll'r form-for cradles are specific to a particular model and generation of tablet (for example iPad Pro 10.5 gen 2), and only for tablets without a case.
The X-Grip range suits thicker tablets and applications where several different tablets might share a cradle.
Powered tablet cradle options include form-fit cradles for the Samsung Galaxy Active Tablet and the RAM GDS Tech Ecosystem which is comprised of a matching tablet case and powered cradle.
Do you need a powered cradle for a specific OE tablet model?
RAM Mounts powered cradles are cost effective alternatives to OE brackets for devices such as the SAMSUNG Galaxy Active and Active Pro series Tablets, Ecom Ex 02 DZ2, Honeywell RT-10 Tablets, CT-50, CT60, THOR and SCANPAL and the Zebra ET5X series. We carry some of these as stock items and source others on demand. Contact us early in the development of your project to discuss options and timeframes.
Is security important to you?
Most of the tablet mounting options that we carry are available in locking and non-locking options, with locks ranging from key-lock to combination lock styles. Security cradles include the RAM Tab-Lock and Locking GDS powered cradle ranges, with security options also available in the OE Honeywell, Samsung and Zebra computer cradle ranges.
Armed with this information we can point you in the right direction. We have attempted to list some compatible devices under each tablet, however new models are released on a regular basis and it is simply not possible to keep the lists fully up to date. Compare your tablet dimensions with those listed for each cradle to determine final compatibility.
