How to choose the best phone mount for larger phones.
We carry a broad range of reliable options to suit larger phones, however choosing the right phone mount for you requires some thought. A RAM based solution is not $2 shop option, it is an investment in quality. We believe that reliability and build quality are not negotiable and we refuse to sell flimsy solutions that break after a few months in the sun. When we help our clients decide on a mounting solution for a big phone we generally ask the following questions:
Will it be out in the elements or inside a vehicle?
For open cockpit vehicles such as motorcycles we recommend either an X-Grip with a tether or a Quick-Grip cradle wherever there is a risk of your expensive device ending up on the road.
How big is your phone?
Many of our cradles come in two sizes - the RAM-HOL-UN10 X-Grip or RAM-HOL-PD4 Quick-Grip suit plus-sized phones. Will it be in a case?
The Form-Fit range of phone holders suit Apple iPhones WITHOUT case. For phones in a case then consider the X-grip, Quick-Grip or Universal series of cradles
How big is that case?
Measure the dimensions of the phone inside of its case. Pay particular attention to the thickness. The Quick-Grip is limited to phones 18mm thick or less. For thicker phones head to the X-grip and Tough-Charge range.
