The RAM-B-189-TAB17-ALA1-KRU is a complete RAM® dual suction mount for the Apple iPad Gen 1-4 in a case, popular as an aviation EFB (electronic flight bag) setup. Its twin Twist-Lock suction cups give an extra-strong hold on flat glass, and the retention-knob arm lets you re-aim the tablet without it dropping. Built around the spring-loaded RAM® Tab-Tite™ cradle.

The Tab-Tite™ cradle takes any tablet inside those ranges, so measure your device with its case fitted rather than going by model name. The dual base needs a flat or gently curved smooth, non-porous surface such as glass; for a strongly curved surface, choose the articulating (PIV1) version instead.

Care & Warranty

• Smooth, non-porous surfaces only; anything rough or textured lets air past the seal and the cups will not hold.
• Clean the surface thoroughly before you apply the cups.
• If the aircraft or vehicle is left sitting in extreme heat or cold, release the cups and stow the mount rather than leaving it loaded.
• RAM® classes suction cups as a general wear item, so the cups are excluded from warranty cover. The base, arm and cradle hardware are covered as normal.

FAQs

What does the retention knob do? It lets you loosen and re-aim the arm with the tablet still mounted, and stops the knob backing all the way off, which is handy in a cockpit or cab.

Will it hold on a curved windscreen? This flat dual base is best on flat or gently curved glass. For a strongly curved surface, choose the articulating PIV1 version.

Are the suction cups covered by the warranty? No. RAM® treat suction cups as a general wear item, so they sit outside the lifetime warranty. The rest of the mount hardware is covered as normal.

When will my order ship? If this item shows as being in stock then it will usually ship from our Auckland warehouse in 1 business day. If it says to enquire then please get in touch as we may be able to get this back in for you.
