Is this a complete mount? Yes. The suction base, medium arm and X-Grip phone cradle are all included; there's nothing else to buy to get your phone onto the glass.
What surfaces will the cup stick to? Glass and other smooth, non-porous surfaces. Textured dashboards, matte plastic and any surface with a grain won't hold; clean both the cup and the surface before mounting. A RAM® adhesive disk gives the cup a smooth face to grip on an otherwise unsuitable surface.
What's the difference between this and the RAM-B-166-UN7U? This is the composite version. The base and arm are high-strength composite rather than powder-coated aluminium, which makes it lighter and a little more affordable. The aluminium RAM-B-166-UN7U is the tougher choice for commercial or off-road use; for everyday in-car mounting the composite version does the same job.
Will my phone fit with a case on? Measure the width of your phone with the case fitted. The cradle opens from 47.6mm to 82.6mm wide and takes devices up to 22.2mm thick, which covers most phones in a standard case. Thick rugged cases and battery cases are the usual exception.
Is the tether included? Yes. We'd recommend fitting it for off-road, marine and any other high-vibration use; it's cheap insurance if the phone is ever knocked loose.
