So a few tips on using the Sena Pi cycling intercoms - sorry if you are looking for advice on buying the best pie I suggest looking elsewhere (though the pepper steak at the Maraetai Bakery is pretty good)

Sena Pi TROUBLE SHOOTING REMEDIES

Should you ever encounter an issue/fault with your Sena device, please perform the following remedies in order:

1). Power Supply

 - try using a different charging outlet (to eliminate the power source as a cause of the issue)

  • Any 3rd party USB charger can be used with Sena products if the charger is approved by either the FCC, CE, IC or other locally approved agencies that Sena accepts.

2). Charging Cable

-  try using the standard charging cable and, if that’s the one you have been using, try a different charging cable (to eliminate the cable as a source of the issue)

  • The pi is compatible with 5 V input USB-charged devices only.

3). Firmware Update

- Check your Sena device is Powered Off.  Connect your Sena device to the computer using the USB cable provided in the pack.  Open the Sena Bluetooth Device Manager on your computer and follow the instructions for your particular model.

Note: All firmware updates should be followed up by a Factory Reset.

The Sena Device Manager can be downloaded from https://www.sena.com/en-eu/support/device-manager/ or https://www.sena.com/support/software

4). Standard Fault Reset

- This action re-boots your device if it is not working properly or is in a faulty status

5). Factory Reset (see image below)

- This action will reset your device to Factory Default Settings and clear all pairings (you might like to make a note of your preferred Basic Settings before doing the Factory Reset).  Refer to instructions in the User Guide.

After a Factory Reset you will need to re-pair your device with your smartphone and your friends devices for intercom AND to re-do your Basic Settings preferences

Note: Before re-pairing it with your phone you should delete the original Sena device from your smartphone’s bluetooth register so there is no residual memory of the previous pairing.

6). Standard Fault Reset (Complete Step 4 above again)

7). Please re-test to see if it has cleared the issue and let you know the outcome:

Then re-test to see if the issue has been resolved.
