RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V10-1U is a GDS® modular hardwire charger that takes 10-32V DC from a vehicle's electrical system and delivers a regulated 12V DC at up to 3.5A through a large 5.5mm barrel plug, for RAM® and GDS® DC powered docks that take the larger connector rather than the standard one.

RAM® and GDS® docks that specify a 12V DC input on the large 5.5mm barrel.

Check the barrel before ordering. The standard-barrel equivalent, RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V10U, has exactly the same 10-32V input and 12V output. The two are told apart only by the physical size of the plug, so choosing on voltage alone will get you the wrong one. If you are not certain which your dock takes, send us the dock model and we will confirm it.

What does the -1U in the part number mean? It denotes the large DC 5.5mm barrel. Everything electrical is the same as the standard V10U.

Will it charge a tablet directly? No. It outputs 12V on a barrel plug for a powered dock, not USB. If your device charges over USB, you want one of the USB-C or USB-A chargers instead.
