The RAM-337U is a 1.5" C-size RAM® ball with a 1/4"-20 female threaded hex post, letting you thread a RAM® ball mount onto any standard camera tripod bolt or threaded stud. The larger C-size ball suits heavier cameras and higher-load setups than the standard B-size version.

Match the ball to your RAM arm. This RAM-337U is the C-series (1.5" ball) version for heavier loads; if your arm uses the smaller 1" B ball, you want the RAM-B-337U instead.
