The RAM-GDS-DOCK-AP37CD2U is the peripheral version of the AP37 Tough-Dock. It charges a large-format Apple iPad wrapped in an IntelliSkin® Next Gen sleeve and adds two USB Type-A ports on the dock itself, so a keyboard, barcode scanner, printer or card reader can stay permanently wired into the cab rather than plugged into the tablet each time it is docked.

Works With

Apple iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Gen), iPad Pro 13 and iPad Air 13, each wrapped in the matching IntelliSkin® Next Gen sleeve. The sleeve is not included and is required; the dock charges through the sleeve's pogo pins, not through the iPad's own port. The dock connects to RAM® ball and socket systems via a 4-hole AMPS pattern ball adaptor, sold separately. If you don't need the peripheral ports, the RAM-GDS-DOCK-AP37CPU is the plain dock; there is also a key-locking version of this same dual-peripheral dock (RAM-GDS-DOCKL-AP37CD2U) if the vehicle is left unattended.

FAQs

What can I plug into the two USB-A ports?

Anything the iPad would normally accept over USB; keyboards, barcode scanners, receipt printers, card readers. Each port supplies up to 900mA at 5V, which is enough for most handheld peripherals but not for charging a second device.

Do I need an IntelliSkin sleeve as well?

Yes. The dock charges through the pogo pins on an IntelliSkin® Next Gen sleeve, so the iPad has to be wearing one. It is not included with the dock.

Do I need a special charger?

Yes; a Power Delivery (PD) charger is required to supply sufficient power to this dock.

Does it lock?

No. This is the non-locking version. RAM make the same dual-peripheral dock with a keyed lock as the RAM-GDS-DOCKL-AP37CD2U; get in touch if that's the one you need.
