The RAM-B-189-C-UN8U mounts most 7"–8" tablets to a windscreen or smooth surface. It pairs the spring-loaded RAM® X-Grip® cradle with a twin twist-lock suction base and a long double socket arm for maximum reach. The ball-and-socket arm adjusts to almost any angle.

Most 7"–8" tablets that fit the cradle dimensions below. The suction base mounts to glass and other smooth, non-porous surfaces. Care & Warranty

• Smooth, non-porous surfaces only — anything rough or textured lets air past the seal and the cups will not hold.
• Clean the surface thoroughly before you apply the cups.
• If the vehicle is left sitting in extreme heat or cold, release the cups and stow the mount rather than leaving it loaded.
• RAM® classes suction cups as a general wear item, so the cups are excluded from warranty cover. The base, arm and cradle hardware are covered as normal.

FAQs

Is this a complete mount? Yes. The dual suction base, round base, long arm and X-Grip tablet cradle are all included — there's nothing else to buy to get your tablet onto the glass.

Will it hold on a curved windscreen? Both cups sit on a fixed plate, so this kit is at its best on flat or gently curved glass. On a strongly or compound curved screen the pivot version, the RAM-B-189-PIV1-UN8U, is the better choice — each of its cups articulates independently and can be repositioned to suit convex or concave surfaces.

Will my tablet fit with a case on? Measure the width of your tablet with the case, sleeve or skin fitted. The cradle opens from 63.5mm to 146.05mm wide and takes devices up to 22.2mm thick.

Is the tether included? Yes. We'd recommend fitting it for off-road, marine and any other high-vibration use — it's cheap insurance if the tablet is ever knocked loose.

Are the suction cups covered by the warranty? No. RAM® treat suction cups as a general wear item, so they sit outside the lifetime warranty. The rest of the mount hardware is covered as normal.

What surfaces will the cups stick to? Glass and other smooth, non-porous surfaces. Textured dashboards, matte plastic and anything with a grain won't hold. Clean both the cup face and the surface before mounting — a RAM adhesive disk is the usual workaround where there's no suitable glass.

Is the long arm the right choice? The 152mm arm gives extra reach for pushing a 7-8" tablet clear of instruments or controls. If you want the tablet held closer to the glass, a shorter-arm suction kit suits better.
