The RAM-B-149Z-2-A-300-1U is a complete four-part radar detector mount for large-diameter bars. A strap and U-bolt base clamps to tubing from 12.7mm right up to 80mm, a short double socket arm sets the angle, and RAM's Magnetic Power Plate™ III holds the detector on two rare-earth magnets so you can twist it off when you park.

What's Included

This is a kit built from four RAM components, all of which we also sell individually:

• RAM-B-231Z-2U: strap and U-bolt rail base with 1" B-size ball, covering 12.7mm to 80mm tubing
• RAM-B-201U-A: short double socket arm, 51mm socket-to-socket
• RAM-B-202U: 63.5mm round base with 1" ball and AMPS hole pattern, which the holder bolts to
• RAP-300-1U: Power Plate III magnetic holder for larger detectors

Works With

Any radar detector with a flat bottom surface of roughly 102mm x 76mm (4" x 3"). The 1" B-size balls mean you can swap in a longer arm or a different base later without replacing the whole mount. If your detector is on the smaller side, the Power Plate II version (RAP-300U) is the better fit.

Good to Know

• Bars over 80mm: the base will take any size worm-drive strap clamp, so a larger clamp from the hardware store gets you onto fatter tubing.
• Hard drives: don't use a magnetic mount to hold any device with an internal hard drive, as the magnets may damage it.
• Spare plates: replacement adhesive steel plates are part number RAP-300-1SU.

FAQs

Do I need both the U-bolt and the strap?
No. Use whichever suits your bar. The U-bolt handles narrow bars up to 32.75mm, the strap clamp takes over from 40mm to 80mm.

Can I use a different arm?
Yes. Everything here runs on 1" B-size balls, so any B Series double socket arm will fit if you want more reach.

Will the magnet hold at speed?
RAM doesn't publish a rating for the magnets themselves; their figures cover the ball-and-socket connection. In practice the two rare-earth magnets hold a detector securely, and the steel plate needs to be stuck flat to the device.

How fast does it ship?
