The RAP-B-166-C-202U pairs an 83.8mm (3.3") composite Twist-Lock™ suction cup base and a 63.5mm composite round AMPS plate with the aluminium RAM-B-201U-C long double socket arm. It is the one to pick when the windscreen sits well forward of where you actually want the screen, such as a deep-dash ute or a van.

Care & Warranty

• Smooth, non-porous surfaces only. Anything rough or textured lets air past the seal and the cup will not hold.
• Clean the surface thoroughly before you apply the cup.
• A long arm puts more leverage on the cup than a short one, so check the seal regularly and keep the load within the stated capacity.
• If the vehicle is left sitting in extreme heat or cold, release the cup and stow it rather than leaving it loaded.
• RAM® classes suction cups as a general wear item, so the cup is excluded from warranty cover. The base, arm and plate hardware are covered as normal.

FAQs

Is this mount all composite?
No. The suction base and round plate are composite, but the long arm is the aluminium RAM-B-201U-C. RAM® do not make a composite long arm in B Size, so every long-arm kit in this range uses the aluminium one.

How does it differ from the RAM-B-166-C-202U?
Both use the same aluminium long arm. This one swaps the aluminium suction base and round plate for composite versions, so it is lighter and holds up better in salt air. The all-aluminium kit is the tougher choice for heavy vibration or knocks.

Will the long arm hold a tablet?
The B Size range is rated to 907g (2 lb) in standard use, which covers phones and light tablets. For a heavier tablet, step up to a C Size mount rather than pushing this one past its rating, and bear in mind a long arm loads the cup harder than a short one.

Is the suction cup covered by the warranty?
No. RAM® treat suction cups as a general wear item, so the cup sits outside the lifetime warranty. The rest of the mount hardware is covered as normal.

What surfaces will the cup stick to?
Glass and smooth, non-porous surfaces. Textured dashboards will not hold, so fit a RAM® adhesive disk to the dash first and stick the cup to that.
