RAP-B-166-A-202U RAM® Composite Twist-Lock™ Suction Cup, Round Base, Short Arm

The RAP-B-166-A-202U pairs an 83.8mm (3.3") Twist-Lock™ suction cup base with a short double socket arm and a 63.5mm round AMPS base, built entirely from high-strength composite. It is the lowest-profile mount in the composite round-base range, holding your device close in to the glass with no drilling required.

Care & Warranty

• Smooth, non-porous surfaces only. Anything rough or textured lets air past the seal and the cup will not hold.
• Clean the surface thoroughly before you apply the cup.
• If the vehicle is left sitting in extreme heat or cold, release the cup and stow it rather than leaving it loaded.
• RAM® classes suction cups as a general wear item, so the cup is excluded from warranty cover. The base, arm and plate hardware are covered as normal.

FAQs

How does the composite version compare to the aluminium one?
The RAP-B-166-A-202U uses a composite arm and round plate in place of the aluminium parts on the RAM-B-166-A-202U. It is noticeably lighter and better suited to marine and salt-air use, while the aluminium version is the tougher choice for heavy vibration or knocks.

Is the short arm too short for a phone?
Not usually. It holds the device close to the glass, which suits most phone cradles and keeps the mount out of your sightline. If you need to bring the screen closer to you, step up to the medium-arm RAP-B-166-202U.

Is the suction cup covered by the warranty?
No. RAM® treat suction cups as a general wear item, so the cup sits outside the lifetime warranty. The rest of the mount hardware is covered as normal.

What surfaces will the cup stick to?
Glass and smooth, non-porous surfaces. Textured dashboards will not hold, so fit a RAM® adhesive disk to the dash first and stick the cup to that.
